2019 is here, I’d say ‘finally’ but it feels like 2018 lasted about two months, and I have a feeling this year will go just as quickly. I wanted my first post of the year to be a reflection of last year and a personal guide for this year. I haven’t made any New Years resolutions this year as I don’t really tend to stick to them very well, but I’ve listed a few things that I’d like to do and achieve in 2019.
My 2018 Goals
Reflection is always good, it allows you to see how much you’ve achieved and how far you’ve come in just a year, so I’m starting off today by reviewing my New Years goals for last year. I made three news years resolutions for 2018, only one of which I stuck to, which was starting a blog. Despite only keeping one resolution I still feel quite proud that I have, I’ve had my blog for almost a year now and although its not exactly where I expected it to be a year on, I’m still surprised I’ve managed to keep it going!
My 2019 Goals
This year I’d like to travel a little more and put a bit more effort into my blog and instagram, but most of all, find a job that I enjoy. I currently work in retail and hate it, after this Christmas it made me realise I need to find a job that I don’t dread getting out of bed for, and one that gives you some time off over Christmas – I had none! I’m sure everyone’s been in this situation so if anyone has any tips for find an enjoyable job, send them my way!
For my birthday this year (yes, I’ve already had my birthday this year *cry*) my boyfriend surprised me with a holiday to Greece and I couldn’t be more excited! We’ve never been on holiday together before and he’s never even been abroad so its going to be such a great experience for both of us. It’s not until September but that gives me enough time to complete my next goal.
Last year I definitely enjoyed my food as I did gain a little bit of weight, so this year I’d like to lose some. I know this is quite a cliche New Years Goal but I feel like now that I have a good reason to get fit I’m more likely to stick to it. I need to do more exercise than anything, I’m incredibly unfit, and I want to look like my best self for my first non-family holiday.
Work On My Instagram Game
Last year I really enjoyed building my blogs Instagram account, so this year I’d like to put even more time and effort into it, for Christmas my boyfriend bought me a soft light box, which is amazing! My Instagram photos will hopefully be on point with the help of this, and it will definitely be helpful if I do follow through with my next goal. If you’d like to follow me on instagram to see my journey I’d really appreciate it! My socials will be linked below.
Start a YouTube Channel
It seems like anyone and everyone is starting a YouTube channel these days, but I’ve always wondered what would cone of it if I started my own. I have to admit, it would be a total dream come true to make a living by filming my own makeup looks, so if my blog continues to grow I might setup my own channel. You don’t know until you try, right?
So that’s it for my 2019 goals, none of them are too crazy and I’ve made no real obligation to stick to them, but these are a few things I’d like to achieve this year, I’d love to know what yours are if you have any, so let me know in the comments! I have some more exciting beauty posts lined up this year, so if you’d like to keep up please follow my socials linked below!
