The temperatures where I live are very quickly dropping, and with a change in temperature comes a change in my skincare routine. Lately, I’ve been loving the new Revolution skincare range which I wrote about here, but there’s always one brand I like to go back to around this time of year – Liz Earle. During the summer when my skin doesn’t need a lot of extra attention, I like to experiment with different brands and products, but during the winter months my skin tends to get very dry so there’s nothing I love more than to nourish my skin with my favourite Liz Earle Products.
I’ve been a big fan of Liz Earle products for a few years now and I always go a little over the top with them during the winter. I’ve been given a lot of Liz Earle skincare products from friends and family over Christmas and birthdays so I have almost every Liz Earle product I could wish for, the only ones missing from my collection are the Skin Repair Moisturiser and the Superskin Concentrate For Night – there are obviously other Liz Earle products I don’t own, but those are the two and wishing for this Christmas! I always have to have so much self control this time of year because Boots do some amazing Liz Earle gift sets, but my Nan always gets me one for Christmas, so I have to hold out until then. Anyway, I’m not here to talk about my Christmas wish list, I’m actually going to talk about my Winter skincare routine. I did write about Liz Earle at the beginning of the year when I first started blogging, but I feel as though this topic deserves a bit of a glow up.
Step 1 – Cleanse and Polish
If I treat myself to one Luxury item every so often it will always be the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, this stuff effortlessly removes my makes up as well as softens and moisturises my skin. This is usually sold with a Pure Cotton Cloth, so you know it’s luxurious if you have to wash it off with a fancy cloth. With the Cloth included, a 50ml bottle Cleanse and Polish Cleanser is only £10, so if you want to try it it’s so inexpensive but worth every single penny.
If I’m wearing heavy eye makeup I’ll use a little bit of waterproof makeup remover on my eye area before I go in with the cleanser. I usually use one pump and massage that into my face while I wait for the water to warm up (it takes forever from the tap for some reason) then I just rinse one of the Liz Earle Pure Cotton Cloths under the warm water and wash the cleanser off, it’s that easy! It’s such a quick and easy addition to anyone’s evening routine and it makes such a difference to my skins feel and appearance, I love this stuff!
Step 2 – Instant Boost Skin Tonic
This step is quite a quick one – Once my face is dry I pop some of the Instant Boost Tonic onto a cotton pad, then apply it to my face as if I were taking off my makeup again. This helps to lock in moisture and it also helps prep the skin for the final step.
Step 3 – Superskin Face Serum
This Serum is packed with so much goodness and is the perfect product to complete my evening routine. It includes ingredients such as; pomegranate flower, rhubarb, and Parisian silk tree, and all this combined smells absolutely amazing, it’s so earthy and natural so you know it will be good for the skin even before applying. The benefits of this Serum include even skin tone, making the skin firm and plump, and it also reduces the appearance of wrinkles. I haven’t got any wrinkles yet but it’s doing a great job of keeping them at bay!
I usually put two pumps onto my finger and then smooth it across my face to make sure it’s spread evenly, then I just pat it into the skin. It’s advised on the bottle to firmly press it into the skin as this helps with the absorption, but I like to be a little more gentle with my face.
I really enjoy taking the time to add a few extra steps into my evening skincare routine than I would normally during the rest of the year. I tend to have a little more time to myself during the winter evenings, so it’s the perfect excuse to spend more time pampering my skin. I absolutely love the Liz Earle products mentioned in today’s post and I’m sure you will too if you get a chance to try them! I’ll link a few of the Christmas gift sets below too because they’re incredibly good value if you did want to purchase yourself (or someone else, of course) a set.
